Cowan Library/Welcome Center to Host Book Signing for Author Kathy LynnKathy Lynn has returned to Franklin County for the release of her third book, When the Morning Stars Sang, and will provide a lecture and book signing at Cowan Welcome Center/Library on October 4th, 2007 beginning at 6:00 p.m. When the Morning Stars Sang was officially released to the public at the Annual Polly Crockett Festival on September 15 and 16. Kathy Lynn was also in Franklin County in the fall of 2006 to discuss and sign her previous two books, Water on a Flat Rock and Butterflies Still Sing. Both are historical fiction novels based on people, places and events in Franklin County. When the Morning Stars Sang is no exception as it mentions the names of several pioneer families. Kathy Lynn traces her ancestry through the Cherokee Indians living in Franklin County from the late 1700’s up through the Civil War. She and her husband love to travel and have taken great interest in Franklin County’s cultural and historical preservation. Copies of all three books will be available for sale at the book-signing on October 4th. Kathy Lynn says, “I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. My family’s roots are here and I simply love getting to know the people of Franklin County.” Kathy Lynn is a sustaining member of Women Writing the West, a member of the Ozark Writers League and the Historical Authors Society. She frequently speaks at libraries, schools and to civic groups. She is a retired litigation paralegal and travels full time with her husband Joe. |
